I so want to go BACK!

Australia was such a wonderful trip. I wish we could have been there longer. We spent 4 days in Sydney and 4 days in Cairns (Great Barrier Reef). I love how the country has this British undertone, but an international flair.  It's too hard to pick a favorite part of the trip. How do I choose among surfing Bondi Beach, seeing Roos in the wild, snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef, petting a koala bear, or any of the other experiences?
Now I'm working on scrapbooking the pics we took. Deciding what ones to use allows me to relive the trip over and over again. That's one of the great things about this craft.

Some of the pics turned out so well that I'm entering them in the Wisconsin State Fair photography contest. I'll post the ones I'm entering in my next post.

Design Team Sketch Submmission

I teach a class at The Scrapbook Store a couple of times a year where the layouts are based on a sketch which is a template for a layout. Sketches are a great way to get some inspiration when you have a mental block.
Recently I received a message from Little Shop of Sketches about a search for new design team submissions. I decided to give it a try. I had to create a layout based on a specific sketch from the blog.  Here is my take on the sketch. I  hope you like it.

G'day Mate!

Welcome to my first post!
Right now I am in the throes of getting ready for our trip to Australia. I can hardly believe it every time I say it out loud that we're going. We'll be spending 4 days in Sydney (where the temps have been in the mid-60s) and then 5 days in Cairns at the Great Barrier Reef (where temps are in the low 80s). So we need to pack clothes for 2 types of temperatures. Luckily we each have BIG suitcases. I'm a little anxious about the length of the flight. It is 14 hours from LA to Sydney. I think I'll be a bit stir crazy and need to do some laps on the plane. I will definintely be taking something with me to help me sleep.
I am looking forward to really experiencing this fascinating country. So until next time...throw another shrimp on the barbie. No Worries!
